Who would have thought it'd be more exciting than scary? Love outweighs the risks.
We were talking to a dinner guest last night about the adoption process. He sat there, with big eyes (like most probably will). It sounds like a HUGE undertaking.
I keep thinking that whenever my husband hears it, with all the logistics, he'll say, "Whoa. Let's step back here." Instead, he called his health insurance to see how much more money will be deducted from his paycheck for the 3 extra kids! {Guess what? Zero! WooHoo!} He is "all in".
We are all in.
Now that we are seeking to adopt, it's more important than ever to not mention which country they are from or their names. We are allowed to say Eastern Europe. Therefore, I can show you this chessboard.
I had talked about this in a previous blog post. In America, we don't hear much about Russia. It's serious. It was Ray's second concern (and only 2 have been voiced) behind needing a bigger car. He asked if he'd even be able to travel over there for the adoption process. Since he's in the military, there are a number of countries to which the DOD doesn't want our service members to travel. I never thought about adding that to our prayer list, but we'll take prayer for peace over in Eastern Europe.
Putin has made plenty of threats to the countries over there. Obama has made threats to Putin. Our adorable host children are in the middle of all that. I mean, I don't know if they understand it. {hopefully not}
Have I mentioned how fast we want this adoption to be complete? It will take some miracles. Thankfully, I believe in a God of miracles!
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
