I don't even know how to explain it.
It kind of goes like this:
Iceman asks me something. Well, I assume he's asking me something, due to the inflection in his voice. He says it fast. He repeats it slowly. I repeat it back to him. {This is our dance.} He assumes, since I'm repeating, that I understand him. I ask him to show me. He cannot. {Not all questions have a directional value.} I give up and say "Yes". He repeats, "Ja?" and then gets super excited and screams, "Yay!"
Uh oh. I don't know what I just agreed to.
This has happened at least 10 times so far.
I started putting a calendar on the wall. Since they are active, I have to plan out every minute of the day. Translating that is exhausting. Iceman really doesn't like it when I have "rest time" listed.
He might dislike chores, equally.
I try to find easy ones for them, but it's hard to come up with things on the fly. I don't know what they are capable of. We've started with a few easy ones.
Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord
your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your
daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock,
or the sojourner who is within your gates. Exodus 20:9-10
