Praying for a Miracle

"Highly skilled educational advocate, therapist, and instructor with extensive successes improving services for exceptional, learning-challenged average to gifted children and adults. Adept at integrating cutting-edge instructional techniques to link learning with fun. Skilled at training professionals to identify diverse learning difficulties. Broad expertise in administering educational testing and therapy. Strong relationship builder with students and parents as well as a facilitator of positive relations between teachers and students." These words are some of the many written on Dr. Champagne's "resume". It also says that her students improve IQ scores, classroom performances, and grades, as well as go on to college.

I just sent in my registration for Jared's summer Cognitive Therapy Program. He will be meeting with Dr. C. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next three months. I'm excited that he will be able to work with such a talented, caring professional. I am truly praying for a miraculous summer.

This past week, I shared Jared's diagnosis with many visiting family friends. I heard so often that he showed no signs and people just couldn't even comprehend it. Even though I explain it's an invisible disability, it's very visible to us and to his teachers. He is so young... and charming... and adorable. These are the characteristics that are visible. You must spend time with him to hear the stumbling, uncertain speech or the dyslexia. It's there. That is why I'm praying for this miracle.

Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 136:4 (NIV)
